Berkeley Tie-Dye Pink is a striking heirloom tomato known for its vibrant pink skin streaked with green and yellow. The medium to large-sized fruits have a rich, complex flavor that balances sweetness with a hint of acidity. Its firm yet juicy texture makes it ideal for fresh eating, slicing, and gourmet dishes. The plant is an indeterminate variety, producing high yields throughout the season. Planting Instructions: Start Indoors: Sow seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost date. Use a seed-starting mix and plant seeds ¼ inch deep in small containers. Germination: Keep the soil temperature around 70–80°F (21–27°C). Seeds should germinate in 5–10 days. Transplanting: Once seedlings develop at least two sets of true leaves and nighttime temperatures stay above 50°F (10°C), harden them off and transplant outdoors. Sun & Soil: Plant in full sun with well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. A pH between 6.2–6.8 is ideal. Spacing: Space plants 24–36 inches apart in rows or raised beds. Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Deep watering is preferred to encourage strong root growth. Support: Use cages or stakes to support the vigorous, indeterminate vines. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced fertilizer at planting and side-dress with compost or tomato fertilizer during the growing season. Harvesting: Fruits are ready to harvest when they develop a deep pink color with green striping and have a slight give when gently squeezed. Enjoy these beautiful, flavorful tomatoes fresh or in salads, sandwiches, and sauces!
